METROBRICK – Brick Made Thin

METROBRICK® Architectural Thin Brick is a thin brick for use in precast, tilt-up, field applied and direct applied brick veneer applications. METROBRICK® is a true kiln fired thin brick made to stringent guidelines making it suitable for a variety of building construction types.

METROBRICK® thin brick is 5/8” thick in comparison to the 4” thickness of a standard facing brick. The use of METROBRICK® thin brick presents a number of advantages when compared to the use of full bed brick. The natural resources and energy saved in production, shipping and construction and the insulation capabilities with a building system incorporating thin brick are prime examples. With the onset of green building practices and LEED certification for projects, advantages like these are finding much consideration when designs call for brick faced construction.

METROBRICK® is available in a wide range of color options, finishes and sizes. Custom blending of colors is also available. A selection of colors is available as an inventoried product for immediate shipment.

METROBRICK® Architectural Thin Brick meets and exceeds all Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute Standards for Thin Brick. By meeting the standards set forth by the PCI, METROBRICK® is shown to be manufactured to a standard vital to the success of thin brick cast in concrete. Many thin brick’s and face-cut full brick’s being manufactured today cannot meet these rigorous criteria.

The PCI Standard includes areas of testing and compliance such as back surface texture, freeze thaw resistance, out of square testing, and chemical resistance testing.
